Blue Blubber Jellyfish
Before you Buy Blue Blubber Jellyfish, consider the requirements for keeping them. Blue Blubber Jellies are photosynthetic. They produce roughly half of their own nutritional needs from light. Much like corals in a reef tank, Blubber Jellyfish need high intensity lighting such as metal halide.
Aquarium Requirements
Blue Blubber Jellyfish are very active swimmers and are not dependent on water current to keep them suspended. They need a large tank with a lot of swim space. I have seen these jellyfish displayed in public aquariums in large upright tube tanks. I myself have kept them in a tank such as this, with little success.
Why we don’t sell Blubber Jellyfish
Blubber jellyfish are unable to regenerate tissue like Moon Jellyfish . This means that if your Blubber Jellyfish gets damaged or torn it’s like an anemone, unlikely to recover and can foul the entire tank. We do not sell or recommend Keeping Blue Blubber Jellyfish.
